Instruments for Hire
The following instruments are available for hire on a Termly basis:-
Strings:- Violins, Violas, 'Cellos and Double Basses
These instruments are normally of a 'better than basic' quality and a variety of sizes is available. The termly charge is based on the quality of the instrument.
Woodwind:- Clarinets including Lyons 'C' (from £25/term), Flutes including Curved Head (from £25/term) and an Oboe (£45/term).
Trumpets and Cornets (from £25/term), French Horn (£65/term), Trombones (from £45/term) and an Eb Tuba (POA).
Terms commence 1st Jan, 1st May, 1st Sept. Please ring for prices and availability.
Exchange Scheme for String Instruments
Our 'Guaranteed Exchange Scheme' for instruments of the Violin family promises you a definite 'trade-in' price when you upsize or upgrade your Violin/Viola/'Cello. Furthermore, in ihe case of your initial purchase, should the instrument become redundant within the first 6 months, we will buy it back from you for 65% of the price you paid. In the medium to long term, you will spend less than by renting - and you will always own an instrument. Please ask for our explanatory leaflet and price list.
Buy-Back Scheme
This scheme, available for Brass and Woodwind instruments, gives first-time buyers a 6-month trial period during which we will buy the instrument back for 90% of the price paid, less the VAT. This is by far the most economical way to try an instrument, since you buy it at our discount price. For example, the Mistral Alto Sax has an SRP of £375 but our discount price is £325. Should you return it in good condition within 6 months of purchase, we will buy it back for £254.35, which means that 6 months use has cost you only £70.65, most of which has gone to Mr Darling..
Equipment Hire
We have various items available to hire on a daily, weekend or weekly basis. These include an Electric Piano, Public Address systems, a Karaoke system, a Disco Console and a Flashing Lights unit. Please ring availability and rates.
Repairs
We repair all stringed, woodwind and brass instruments and some electronic gear.
Please note that, as from September, a charge of £10 will be made for a quotation. If the quotation is accepted, then the £10 will be credited against the repair.
