Woodwind Instruments

The Woodwind Instrument family

comprises the Flute, the Oboe, the Clarinet, the Bassoon and, surprisingly, since it is made of brass, the Saxophone. Each member of the family has smaller or larger siblings. The Fute has the Piccolo and the Alto Flute, the Oboe has the Cor Anglais, the Clarinet has the Eb Clarinet, the A Clarinet, the Alto Clainet and the Bass Clarinet, not to mention the Basset Clarinet and the Bassethorn, whilst the Bassoon has the Tenoroon, the Contra-Bassoon and the Wayneroon. The Saxophone, being something of a dark horse, has two families - the C/F family and the better known Eb/Bb family, comprising the Bb Soprano, the Eb Alto, the Bb Tenor and the Eb Baritone.
